EMBATTLED COACH LINGLER MOVING ON

DATE TBD

"Coach" Harvey Lingler is leaving the High School today after a 14 year run as the head coach of the Pirates football team. Lingler has accepted a position at rival high school, Gibsonwich, where he'll become the new head coach of football but also secure a department head position in their physical education department.

Lingler came under heavy scrutiny last fall when he was accused of tampering by school officials. Lingler had allegedly sold his own playbook to the opposing coaches of Division 4-AA football. The Pirates went 0-9 in that season.

Mitchell Bark, last season's offensive coordinator, will replace Lingler as the new head coach.

"It's been a long couple years with Harvey at the helm, and I think all parties involved are happy to see Harvey get the position with the Tigers," Bark said.

The Pirates football team will play Lingle's Tigers in the fourth game of the season.
