ARSON IN VICTER PARK
Firefighters rushed to a small fire at Victer Park early this morning after 911 calls reported the grass in the northern end of the park on fire. Firefighters brought the small fire under control and the fire chief has said that they are not ruling out arson.
"After arriving at the scene, we found eleven smoke bombs within the burned-out area. We're under the assumption that kids were in the park and lighting these smoke bombs without any care or responsibility to these public parks and the people who use them. We'll get these little buggers," fire chief Kenneth Busher said. "We won't leave any stone unturned. Causing damage like this to our public greenery is unacceptable and we plan on using every tool at our disposal to apprehend these criminals."
The police currently have no suspects.
Damages have already been assessed at $415 for new sod and labor.
